#3

last summer I went on a most adventurous trip to the boundary waters. I went with the most comical group ever. A pastor was the leader of the group and guided us along giant pine tress and house sized rocks. The thing that separated us from other groups is that we always left during the first wonderful hours of the morning. We always woke up before the sun rise. But with it came a great surprise. The sun would rise just to say good morning to everyone as the worm sunlight grazed the skin. Much of everything is quite when your up that early. No sounds of birds or animals. I could only hear the gentle splatter of water as the paddle grazed the water much like a swan does when it lands onto a came surface of water. The steady but distant sounds of water rushing into the lakes from creeks far away. The soft colors that come with the morning much like a crystal haze that covers most of everything. When ever i thing of this story it always helps he get up in the morning.

Nice description of sounds as well as sight. Spell check! Or at least read through again to make sure you spelled simple words right. Try not to use a verb twice, like "grazed." It's a good verb though. I liked the swan simile. What is the "great surprise" you mentioned? That was confusing because nothing you mentioned after that sentence was surprising.

Very nice job describing the picture. If i wouldn't have seen the picture, i would have felt like i was there. Just closed my eyes, sat back and been right there in that picture. I really liked the sentance, "I could only hear the gentle splatter of water as the paddle grazed the water much like a swan does when it lands onto a came surface of water." I could really imagine the swan doing that and i almost heard the sound in my mind. Only thing that you could change is a few misspelled words. For example, you said tress when you meant trees. Right? Otherwise nice job!!
